During The Time Of Covid-19 Now Black Lives Matter Too!
This past Tuesday, in the span of 12 hours I heard more communicated concern for black lives in America than I can recall ever hearing in my entire life. Note, I am more than half a century years old, so such a statement is quite telling. And to be completely honest, one of my moods regarding this sudden concern was cynicalness. For all this concern to be brought to the forefront on prime-time TV only a few years after the overtly unpalatable response to the “Black Lives Matter” movement seems to me to fall in the category of being “A day late and a dollar short”. It left me questioning the motive of some. One in particular.
To be clear. Yes! The reality of the negative impact this current coronavirus pandemic is having within the Black community is sobering, saddening and actually a bit (ok on the real…very much so) maddening. As Dr. Fauci so honestly and boldly shared yesterday for all of America to hear “…coronavirus is ‘shining a bright light’ on ‘unacceptable’ health disparities for African Americans.” Of course this is not new information for most African Americans.
