Lately I’ve Been Wondering…

Recently I was asked the question of what my philosophy is on dealing with racists online and in real life? With the current racial climate in America being as it is this question is definitely a pertinent one to be addressed. Especially considering that for almost every person of color in America this isn’t a question of “if” you will have to deal with a racist, but rather a question of “when” it will happen. While pondering about my answer to this question my mind immediately went onto something else that I’ve also been wondering a lot about lately. This also being something pertinent that I need to address. Let me explain.

A couple of days ago I was driving down the highway in the steady stream of traffic that is par for the course for motorist on Interstate 10 in Houston, Texas. My day had actually been going along quite well. I had ended my shift and was happily heading in the directions of home. As I expected would eventually happen, I could see in the distance that the traffic on I-10 was coming to a temporary standstill. I slowed my speed preparing to stop as I inched just a little closer to the vehicle in front of me at a snail’s pace.

And that’s when “it” happened. I found myself once again experiencing what I am calling a “mini panic attack”.I started having them every since the 2016 Presidential campaign swung into high gear. They usually come completely out of the blue. In this instance (i.e while driving) I’ve discovered that it automatically happens every time I find myself face to face with a particular person’s bumper…
